I grew up in foster care, and at around age 16, got into ancestry as a way to find my biological family. I tested to determine my biological ancestors (my parents were both adopted and I only knew about one line of my biological ancestors). I've verified most of my ancestors, and now I serve as a search angel to help others do the same, mostly former foster children and adoptees.

If you're a DNA match, please note that besides Ancestry, I'm also on GEDmatch (Kit #A915080), MyHeritage, Geni, Family Tree DNA, LivingDNA, DNA.Land, and WikiTree. I prefer WikiTree overall, if you're looking to connect.
